GPSR compliance on your own website
On your own website you are the marketplace: the GPSR Art. 19 information — manufacturer, EU Responsible Person, identification details, warnings in the buyer's language — must be visible before purchase, not only in the parcel. This guide covers what to add and where.
What every EU-facing listing must display
GPSR Art. 19 requires this information to be visible before purchase — on the listing itself, not just inside the parcel:
- Manufacturer name, postal address and electronic address
- If the manufacturer is outside the EU: name and contact details of the EU Responsible Person
- Product identification: a photo, the product type, and a batch or model reference
- Any warnings and safety information, in the language(s) of each EU country you target
Step by step on your store
1.Show all four GPSR blocks on the product page, before purchase
Manufacturer (name, address, email), EU Responsible Person, product identification (photo + type/batch/model) and warnings must be clearly visible on the product page itself. A link buried in terms & conditions or a separate legal page is NOT sufficient.
2.Serve safety info in each buyer's language
Display the warnings in the language of each EU country you sell to — use the per-language sections of the Safety Information Sheet (e.g. show German text to buyers in Germany/Austria).
3.Check who you ship to
If you don't want to comply for a market, exclude it at checkout/shipping level — an EU order from a non-compliant listing is still your liability.
The documents to prepare
The fields above are the easy part — what takes time is preparing what goes in them. The GPSR Kit generates all four documents for your specific product in one pass:
- Safety Information Sheet — the warning texts to paste, in every language of the countries you sell to
- Simplified Risk Assessment — pre-filled for your category, to review, adapt and sign for your technical file
- Marketplace Checklist — the field-by-field steps for your channels
- Label Template — the mandatory mentions plus a copy-paste block for your listing descriptions

FAQ
What happens if my your own website listings are not GPSR-compliant?
Non-compliant listings can be removed for EU buyers, and market surveillance authorities can require corrective action from the Responsible Person.
Do I need an EU Responsible Person?
If your products' manufacturer is based outside the EU — which includes you, if you make the products yourself outside the EU — then yes, a person or company established in the EU must be named on your listings. The kit's checklist includes guidance and real market prices for appointing one.
What documents should I have ready before filling the fields?
A multilingual safety information sheet (the warning texts you will paste), a risk assessment kept in your technical file, and a label with the required mentions. That is exactly what the GPSR Kit generates for your specific product.
GPSR Kit helps you prepare product-safety compliance documents. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee compliance or marketplace approval. Review and adapt all content to your actual product before use.
