GPSR compliance on Amazon

Amazon enforces the EU GPSR through the Compliance section of Seller Central and can auto-suspend listings with missing safety information. This guide walks through the fields Amazon asks for, and the documents to have ready before you start.

What every EU-facing listing must display

GPSR Art. 19 requires this information to be visible before purchase — on the listing itself, not just inside the parcel:

Step by step on Amazon

  1. 1.Fill Compliance Information for each ASIN

Seller Central → Manage Inventory → Edit → Compliance Information (Safety & Compliance): enter the EU Responsible Person name, address and email, and the manufacturer details. For many ASINs, use the bulk Compliance Information template instead of editing one by one.

  2. 2.Clear your Product Compliance dashboard

Seller Central's compliance dashboard lists the ASINs flagged for missing GPSR data with deadlines. Treat every flagged ASIN before the deadline — flagged ASINs get deactivated for EU customers automatically.

  3. 3.Add warnings per EU marketplace, in the local language

Paste the warning texts into the product description/bullet points of each EU marketplace in its language: amazon.de in German, amazon.fr in French, amazon.it in Italian, amazon.es in Spanish… Use the per-language sections of the Safety Information Sheet.

  4. 4.Keep documentation ready to upload

Amazon increasingly requests supporting documents (label images, safety information). Keep this kit's PDFs and your supplier declarations ready to upload from the compliance dashboard.

The documents to prepare

The fields above are the easy part — what takes time is preparing what goes in them. The GPSR Kit generates all four documents for your specific product in one pass:

FAQ

What happens if my Amazon listings are not GPSR-compliant?

Amazon flags the listing in the Compliance dashboard and can suspend it until the missing information is provided. Suspended listing = zero revenue until fixed.

Do I need an EU Responsible Person?

If your products' manufacturer is based outside the EU — which includes you, if you make the products yourself outside the EU — then yes, a person or company established in the EU must be named on your listings. The kit's checklist includes guidance and real market prices for appointing one.

What documents should I have ready before filling the fields?

A multilingual safety information sheet (the warning texts you will paste), a risk assessment kept in your technical file, and a label with the required mentions. That is exactly what the GPSR Kit generates for your specific product.

GPSR Kit helps you prepare product-safety compliance documents. It is not legal advice and does not guarantee compliance or marketplace approval. Review and adapt all content to your actual product before use.
